Where can I find the best price and service for small business website design?

I run a small company and need a simple 5 page but yet a very professional looking website. I looked at some of the web design companies and the sites they design for the price is not up to the mark.

Any suggestion?

What are the best qualified institutes in London offering web design courses at accessible prices?

I’m looking for a web design course for this summer. There are so many different places offering this type of courses here in London that I feel overwhelmed. So please help me!
OK, I live in the north London area (Finchley), but I wouldn’t mind having to go to central London, or a place some 15 miles from here. As long as it’s worth it I don’t mind.

London is a huge place with 8 million people. You should edit your question stating where you live or where you’d like to study. That will help us to help you narrow things down.

Web design – how to price?

I want to make a website to sell my graphics and web design. I’m having trouble with how to price things though and I need a bit of help with that.
I’ve looked around at my competition’s web pages and all they have for pricing is a "Call for an estimate" deal. I know pricing will greatly depend on my abilities, but it’d be nice to have a rough estimate to start with.
Also, is there anything that customers would find helpful if I put on my website?

portal advertisements, international classifieds, blog marketing, email marketing, social media(Twitter, Facebook pages), daily updates to your pages,
get more hits to your ads, content planning in a social way these all are factors in social media marketing.

what is a fair price for a web design page?

its a small project for a friends dad who just wants a different look for the front page of an already designed site. it would require some tweeking of existing code (im not sure if that code is a mess or not), it would require some stock photo research and possibly some photoshopping and it would require actually thinking out a reasonable layout which they currently lack.

this is literally my first "real" project and web design isnt exactly my forte, but this project isnt out of my range of skill, but what would be a reasonable price? i was going to say like $200 ish?

im sorry, im very much clueless on this one.

I would say that $200 is about right.

What is the average price of Graphic/Web Design hourly rate in UK/Ireland?

Hi guys, I wondering how much Designer or web designers are charging per hour, to work as a freelancer in UK or Ireland? I know it depends on the experience/quality of the designer, but what is the average or range of prices?

It ranges between $15 – 20 per hour, if you need to design a website don’t use individual web developers try to grab a web developing firm which can design a website according to your expectations within a short span of time. I used simplehq to design my website in a cost effective way. If you need to know more about their service and cost, visit http://www.simplehq.com/

does anyone know any upto date web design software that is a fairly good price -?

I am still using microsoft frontpage 2003 thanks in advance…

FrontPage is the world’s WORSE web editor and is really outdated. Word, WordPad, Publisher and even the infamous FrontPage, including many Microsoft web editors should NEVER be used for web pages. They guarantee that your web pages will NOT be cross-browser compatible because of all the Microsoft Schema code it adds. Only IE and Maxthon understand this code. Additionally, FrontPage requires server extensions be installed to work correctly. Also, OpenOffice is not a web editor.

Professional Software:

CoffeeCup’s HTML Editor: http://www.coffeecup.com/html-editor/
CC’s Visual Site Designer: http://www.coffeecup.com/designer/
Lot’s of good, free stuff, too: http://www.coffeecup.com/freestuff/

What is a reasonable price to charge for web design work?

I was asked by an small business owner to create a webpage and I don’t want to put them out of business by over charging.
What is a reasonable price to charge for webdesign work? (creating a homepage, sub-pages, updating content)

Did you go to school for this?
Im guessing you didn’t atm, but im sorry if I am wrong.
If you didn’t: Free/don’t do it.
If you did: Just html then a few hundred, no higher than say 300, now im talking about very basic and such, anything more and it keeps going up, if they want something great and graphic go over 1000.

Is this a good price for web design?

I plan to charge 80 per page for the first 5 pages, 70 per page for pages 5 – 10, and 60 per page after that. This is just basic HTML, CSS and JavaScript. A flash banner or into and any other extras would be more. Does this sound fair to you?

Since it is purely static, the average price (worldwide) is 10-15$ per page, and you will have very limited clients.
So, 80 whatever is WAY too high.
If you want to make money, you MUST develop interactive sites.
For "good" websites, the price is divided in two parts: the DESIGN (images) and the DEVELOPMENT (coding).
The Design itself, if made by a good artist, can become quite expensive (100$ min just for a logo, a few 100’s for a full page layout).
The coding is more complex to define: it depends on the functionality.
Look at the layout of http://www.caughtonline.com.
The Design of the page, provided as just a psd file, was 400$
The coding of the site (3 months) was 7000us$
… tells you the range!
But the site makes a profit of 3-5k/month. Not bad an investment!
